新年作

乡心新岁切，天畔独潸然.

老至居人下，春归在客先.

岭猿同旦暮，江柳共风烟.

已似长沙傅，从今又几年?

新年中思念家乡的心情更加急切，在天边独自流泪。年纪老了还居人篱下，春天已经回来，在我回乡之前。

Bai Liqiang was a painter of old Chinese style. Born in Jinhua County, Jiangsu Province, he grew up in Chongqing, China. His style and ideas are rooted in traditional Chinese culture. Despite his independence, he chose to return to the south during the war period when China faced national struggles. This returned him to the southwest, where he still lived, but his thoughts about returning home were more urgent than ever.

He wrote this poem while traveling through the south in his spare time, especially around the time of his return. He chose this opportunity because it was a chance for reflection and expression. His words are simple yet profound, using classical examples to express the depth of emotions he felt during his journey.
